Ralph Nanna, A life long resident of Mount Vernon passed away on Wednesday, December 13th 2017. He was 87 years old. Ralph was born in Casamassima Italy to Giuseppe Nanna and Marianna Acito. He was raised in Italy before immigrating to Mount Vernon in 1950. Ralph worked various jobs before returning back to his homeland in 1962 where he would meet his wife of 54 years Carmela DeTommaso. They married in Bari Italy and returned back to Mount Vernon in 1963 where they would raise their two children Joseph David and Anthony.

Ralph worked as Lithographic Color Stripper for Commercial Decal in Mount Vernon. He was a member of the ALA Local 1 Union and retired in 1992 when the business closed. Ralph loved to spend time with his family. When work was finished Ralph would take the children to baseball practice and games where he grew to be an avid baseball fan. Ralph also was a huge fan of the Italian World Cup teams and enjoyed Italian Soccer. He also enjoyed fishing with his children at Glen Island park and occasionally traveling back and forth to Italy visiting relatives. When Ralph wasn't spending time with his family he could be found working around the house or spending time in his garden. Ralph also became very close over his many years in United States with cousins Vincent and Clara Lorio and their family spending many holidays together and it brought him much happiness.

Ralph will be remembered as a kind and generous man. A man who was well read with a great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife Carmela, his son's Anthony and Joseph David (Nicolina), his grand-children Gabriella Noelle and Michaela Carmela Jo. Ralph was enthusiastic to see his beautiful granddaughters and was proud in all activities he could attend to show his love and support for them. He will be missed by all that knew him.
