Loving Husband and Father

Obituary

Kevin Robert Glynn of New Rochelle, NY passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 18th at Columbian Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City. He was 64 years old.

Born on September 26th, 1953, Kevin grew up in Yonkers. A graduate of Iona Preparatory School (1971) and Iona College (1975), Kevin went on to receive his Master's Degree in International Finance from Long Island University. He traveled the world during his career in International Trade Finance in the Oil Trading Industry and spent most of his distinguished career working for Mobil Oil Corporation. The true distinction of Kevin's life, however, was his family and his love for them. At the time of his death he had been married for 41 and a half years to his beautiful wife, Regina (Stefano) and was a proud father to their three amazing children.

Kevin was a long-time resident of New Rochelle, NY where he lived for 39 years. He was a faithful parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Pelham Manor, NY. He was also a very active member of the Pelham Civics Association for nearly 20 years.
While he was a competitive tennis player in his early years at school, his love of sports was manifested in his lifelong allegiance to his favorite team, the New York Giants. Always the entertainer, his zest for life was evident in his contagious sense of humor and his larger-than-life stories. He was a history enthusiast and had a propensity to retain and share facts and trivia. He was a kind and supportive man not only to his own family but to anyone in need.

As a liver transplant recipient himself, Kevin was an active member of the Liver Support Group at Columbian Presbyterian Medical Center and spent many hours volunteering to educate other people on the merits of becoming an organ donor as well as encouraging and enlisting them to become advocates for donation themselves. Every year since his gift of life, on the first Sunday in June, he and his family joined Team Gratitude in the annual Love Life Walk to help bring awareness to liver disease and provide financial support for educational programs and patient services to those battling liver disease. In addition, Kevin spent time speaking at workshops for individuals awaiting liver transplants.

Kevin is survived by his devoted wife, Regina and his three children: Cathy Cardew (Greg), Robert Glynn (Danielle) and Laura Glynn (and her fiancé – Scott Cannizzaro). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Cameron (age 4) and Lea (age 2) Cardew, and his brother Raymond Glynn. He is predeceased by both his parents Robert and Shelia Glynn of Yonkers, NY.

A celebration of Kevin's life will take place at Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Ave, Pelham, NY on Wednesday, February 21 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 22 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 559 Pelham Manor Road, Pelham Manor, NY. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in Kevin's name to the American Liver Foundation through Liver Life Walk – Team Gratitude.
