Obituary

Joseph John DelliCarpini of Pelham & New Rochelle
died on November 23, 2016. He was 80.

Born on December 31, 1935 on East 112th Street in New York City, Joe was very active in the Boys Club of New York, a star basketball player and Golden Gloves boxer. He attended Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx. His natural ability to draw and sketch earned him a full-tuition scholarship to the prestigious Cooper Union College in NYC. Upon graduation he opened a successful advertising agency in New York City where he was President and Creative Director.

He was extremely proud of his Catholic religion and Italian heritage. He married Veronica (Ronnie) Nappi in 1964 at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, and moved to Pelham Manor, NY where they raised their children, and remained very active in his community and parish - Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

He personified the virtues of compassion, selflessness and humility, as he became a leading active volunteer in the Town of Pelham, helping create and spearhead many programs, projects and events for the children, the elderly, and the disabled. His help as a Town Councilman of Pelham, President and Chairman of the Pelham Civic Association (awarded Man of the Year), active volunteer for the Boys & Girls Club of Mt. Vernon, just to name a few, resulted in the enhancement of the quality of life for countless individuals and families.

He is survived by the family he loved, and who loved him very much:
His wife Ronnie (Veronica), his brother Tom, his sister Josie, his children Elizabeth (Francis), Patrick (Angelique, son Giancarlo), and Thomas (Casey, and children Meaghan, Xavier & Claudia) and Joseph (Kelly and children Jessica & Jason),

An author of the best selling book ITALIAN WITHOUT WORDS, Joe was always with a smile and laugh to make you feel better, Joe's wish right now would be for us not to cry, but to celebrate: hold hands, hug, laugh, embrace everything life has to offer, and make everyday special.

At this time we mourn for the loss of Joseph DelliCarpini whose life in this world made a significant difference in the lives of many. But our sympathy is even greater for those who never had the chance to meet and get to know him.

A "Life Celebration" Memorial will be held on Monday November 28 from 4 to 8 pm at the Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham, NY 10803, 914-738-1060

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 29 at 10am at Holy Family Church, 83 Clove Road, New Rochelle, NY 10801, 914-632-0673
