Elinor Joan Casucci, 79, entered eternal life on Wednesday May 17, 2017 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peters Hospital Albany, NY surrounded by her loving family.
Elinor was born in Bronx, NY on July 8, 1937 to the late Andrew & Angelina Shaw. She was a devoted wife to her husband Rocco of 60 years; a much loved sibling to her Sister Carol; and a devoted mother and grandmother.
In spring of 1955 they met, fell in love and were married on October 20, 1956. They raised their five children in Mount Vernon, NY and after retiring they moved to Delray Beach, Fl for over 25 years before moving to Halfmoon, NY. On October 20, 2016 they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary surrounded by family and friends. They were soul mates and best of friends.
Survivors include her husband Rocco Sr., her sister Carol Boccardi, of Saratoga Springs, NY; daughter, Roxanne Calvello (David) New Rochelle, NY; son Andrew (Deborah) Clifton Park, NY; son Rocco Jr. (Sharon) Boyton Beach, FL; son Craig (Robin) Branchburg, NJ; son Christopher (Summer) Yorktown Heights, NY. Shes has 9 beautiful granddaughters: Kristin, Amanda, Jessica, Cayla, Skylar, Chloe and Paige Casucci, Lauren & Alison Calvello and 6 wonderful grandsons: Rocco III, Matthew, Aleksandr, Tyler Casucci, David Jr & Jonathan Calvello and and many nieces and nephews.
Elinor was a very spiritual individual who was very active in Methodist Church. She was an avid Patriots football fan and loved her sports. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, cross stitching and spending time with family and friends. Her patriotism and pride in her four son's military service led her to become an active member of The Blue Star Mothers where she spent much time sending packages to military personnel over seas.
Elinor embodied the virtues of love, peace, patience, acceptance and loyalty. Her heart was sincere and pure always giving and never expecting anything in return. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She was a pillar of strength and demonstrated bravery, dignity and grace. She appreciated her many blessings and gave us the gift of love.
We all are saddened and shall miss her terribly but we shall carry her memory forever in our hearts.
