Candle

My dear, dear friend Jackie,

I pray you and you and your family find the greatest comfort possible during your deepest hour of sorrow.

That you are suffering such a profound loss I know is unimaginable to you. To lose your mother, your matriarch, your family glue is not something you can ever really be prepared for. But, I know that you loved your mother deeply and that she loved you right back. I hope you find peace in that. And, because you were such a wonderful a daughter, I'm sure you have no regrets. So hold onto that and lean onto memories of your mother to get you through. Above all, take things one day at a time. Mourning a loss like this is not easily done. So, allow yourself to feel sad when you do, because there will be lots of sad days ahead. And cry when you must. It's natural. And yes, be happy when you feel that too. Because there will be a lot of happy days in your future as well. Your mother wouldn't want it any other way.
