Tribute & Message From The Family

John A. Lomurno of New Rochelle, New York formerly of the Bronx passed away on March 19th 2021. He was 91 years old. Born in the Bronx to Nicholas and Teresa Lomurno, John was the youngest of three children. He was raised in the Bronx where he attended PS 45 before graduating Alfred E. Smith High School. After graduating High School John went to work for a Buick Dealer as a Mechanic. He was drafted to the US Army in 1952 and proudly served in Europe during the Korean War. On his return from Europe he would marry the love of his life Lucy Ranisi at St. Clare's Church in the Bronx. They were married 65 years.

John and his wife Lucy were blessed with five wonderful children. They raised their family in the Bronx while John worked as a car mechanic. In his spare time he loved to garden, go fishing or spend time at his country home in Columbia County, New York where he would relax. There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his family.

To many John will be remembered as a quiet reserved gentleman, while to his family he will be remembered as a wonderful, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who was outgoing, opinionated and sometimes bold. He was comical and loved spending time with the grandkids who were his pride and joy.

John is survived by his wife Lucy, his children; John (Janet) Lomurno, Angela (Ricky) Ditrio, Gina (Michael) Jacopino, Laura (Chris) Alvarez and Gerard (Irene) Lomurno.
