I'm very sad to hear of Fr. Frank's passing. He was my fathers first cousin, they were very close (Peter Boyle of Riverdale ). He was a very nice, soft spoken man and it's nice to read all the lovely memories people have of him. Fr. Frank married my parents( his first wedding ceremony). He baptized my daughter as well as my sisters daughter(one in Pelham & one in Staten Island),as well as the burial of my Grandparents ( his & and uncle) and my Father. We lost touch a number of years after my father's passing. My son is doing ancestry.com family tree and I thought of reaching out to Fr.Frank to help with the Boyle side of the tree and was looking him up to see if he was still residing in Riverdale retirement and saw this. Oddly enough I found it the day after his burial, I would have liked to have been there .
RIP Fr. Frank

Sorry to have just found out about dear Monsignor Boyle's passing.
As special as he always was, guess only fitting that he left us on the 13th, a truly special day, Fatima's monthly novena. I am sure he was met with an Army of Saints & a Choir of Angels, if not St.Peter, himself, to bring him home.
Msgr.Boyle came into my life during his years at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Staten Island, NY
He was such a holy, pious priest. Not many knew all the things he did for our parish as Monsignor did it quietly.
Being a 2nd grade CCD teacher for 30yrs at BS, he always gave me helpful advice. If u ever wanted to know about the life of any Saint, Monsignor knew it; & he would start his daily Mass with the Saint of the Day
In 1993, our family was hit with a medical crisis and I can never forget his quiet, kind words of encouragement & support. He even would visit my husband in NYU during his surgeries.
During my 49 year old husband's funeral, Monsignor helped so much and continued throughout the years afterwards
Monsignor will always be remembered for his holiness to his priesthood and parish....truly dedicated to his vocation, a very quiet, pious priest.
It's been almost 28 years since my husband's death but I can still hear Monsignor's soft, consoling words, which helped me throughout the years
My heartfelt sympathies to Monsignor's family and friends....rest assured he will always watch over all of us

I have arranged for an announced Mass at my present parish on Staten Island...Our Lady Help of Christians on July 25, 2021 at 8am
Wished I could have attended Monsignor's funeral services
Warmest Blessings to all, Michele Rusciano, 92 Connecticut St, SI 10307

Fr. Frank Boyle was an amazing, personable yet humble man who left an indelible mark on all of us "kids" from St.Gabriel's church and school in Riverdale. He took the time to know us all by name, cheered us on in our sports endeavors (especially basketball), and most importantly, guided us through our faith. He was there for all of us and had a profound effect on my childhood. What a special, special man! I was blessed to have known him. May the road rise to meet you Fr. Frank; Rest in peace.

"May He support us all the day
long till the shadows lengthen
and the evening comes and the
busy world is hushed and the
fever of life is over and our
work is done. Then in His
mercy may He give us a safe
lodging and a holy rest and
peace at the last."

Very humble and delivered some of the most thoughtful and beautiful sermons at mass. He performed my communion, confirmation and wedding. He will truly be missed by our family.

Fr. Boyle opened the doors of the Church and the School to all of us. He preached very well--by both his eloquent and yet down-to-earth words, and his life.

Long Live ST Gabriel's!
