My deepest and dearest condolences for the passing of Jon Peter. I knew him from High school as a personable kind and friendly person. Although I haven't seen him in years he will be sadly missed by all who he touched with kind acts and gestures. Sincerely, Frank Salvatore previously from 333 Fourth Ave. Pelham NY.

My father Hank took me almost every weekend fishing on the Klondike(s) and felt like I grew up with little Pete. Was shown a picture today of the IX and thought I hadn't been fishing in a long while. Looked up the boat and saw different captains and then learned of Pete's passing. I am so sorry for everyone's loss. He was a great young man and lived his life so early on with passion. What a tragic loss for so many.

I spent many happy hours fishing and working on the klondike with Peter. He nicknamed me Johnny Onions because I would always cook a bunch of onions on the grill to attract a good breakfast crowd. Those are days I will always cherish. Rest In Peace my friend. You will be missed.

My deepest condolences to peter's family and to Mr. Pearson SR. (Pete's Dad). Mr. Pearson I will never forget the day that you and your wife came to my wife Elizabeth's funeral after her sudden passing in 2007. We as a family (Schneider's and my dad Bob) have always looked up to you and your son in the fishing industry as incredible fisherman, and most of all incredible people and friends. I am so sorry for the loss of Pete. My brothers and I have so many incredible memories of tuna fishing with you all, and blue fishing next to you as a kid with my dad and brothers. I wanted to tell you that you are in my prayers and that I sadly will not be able to make it on Thursday but I can assure you I never forgot the prayers and thoughtfulness you gave me when my wife passed away. May god rest peter's soul and I will continue to pray for you and your family. Thank you for always being great to us and I appreciate everything . I am very sorry for the loss Mr. Pearson and very sorry I will not be able to make it to Pelham. --- Joe and Mary Schneider and the Schneider family of Huntington long island., Retired Detective NYPD) Myrtle Beach SC

I am deeply saddened to hear the news that Peter has died.
I met him back in 1977 and worked with him beginning in 1980 on the Klondike. It was a source of pride for me to see him grow from boy to man and from deckhand to captain over the years.
He was one of the best fishermen I've ever met and a first rate captain and boatman as well!
He was a deeply loyal friend with a heart of gold. Indeed a most generous man.
And, he could make you laugh!
I shall miss him and speaking about days gone by on the boat, and the funny times and customers, characters, etc.
May his soul and all the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace.
