Tribute & Message From The Family
Joseph Kerker died unexpectedly on Saturday December 29, 2018. He was 67. Born September 27, 1951 in Manhattan, NY.
Joe was raised in Pelham, graduating from Pelham High School in 1969. An avid hunter for years he enjoyed visiting his property in upstate NY. Before his health effected his day to day life Joe drove a Taxi in NYC. His sister will always cherish his great sense of humor regardless of life's challenges and his friends described him as a "true blue friend to all". Many would know Joe as a long time "Friend of Bill" where he grew and fostered those true blue relationships.
He was predeceased in life by his father Joseph and mother Mary. He leaves behind his beloved sister Mary Kerker of Colorado. At Mary's request please share this obituary on Facebook so his friends may find out and please feel free to find her on Facebook and send her a tribute about Joe.
A celebration of life will take place on Thursday January 3, 2019 at The Pelham Funeral Home, 64 Lincoln Avenue, Pelham NY 10803 from 10:00 to 11:00AM only. Interment will be private.
Condolence & Memory Journal
Joey was a good friend of mine and even sold me his volkswagen beetle.
We would often meet at a bar on fifth avenue for a few beers.
Always, a welcoming and happy personality.
See you later, Joey..
Love, tom meehan

I was absolutely saddened to hear of Joey's passing. He was a great guy and I'll always remember the many times he made us me laugh. He was a long time neighbor since the Kirker family moved to River Avenue. As I got older and able to own a car his Dad would always volunteer to help me change, brakes, shocks, etc for whatever I needed to save me(the kid down the block) money.

Joe was one of my first friends. We kept in touch by phone a few times a year, and Joe always sent me holiday cards. My mother and his father grew up together in Pelham. Joe was a loyal and true friend.

Joey, my Dad loved your Dad. He was always smiling, laughing and willing to help. You were just like your Dad. I never saw you not smiling no matter how mad I would have been, if I was in your shoes.. You will be missed.
